Description
Target's goal was to create an immersive holiday display that delivered a high-impact in-store experience while prioritizing sustainability. The design centered around molded paper pulp snowdrifts and corrugate trees, ensuring a visually striking yet environmentally responsible execution. These key elements provided depth, texture, and festive appeal while being fully recyclable without requiring disassembly.
With a 1,600-store rollout, scalability and efficiency were critical. The snowdrifts, made from renewable paper pulp, were designed for durability throughout the season while remaining lightweight for easy installation and removal. The corrugate trees, featuring litho labels, maintained structural integrity without compromising recyclability. Both elements could be placed directly into store balers, streamlining the end-of-life process and reducing landfill waste.
Beyond aesthetics, the display reinforced a commitment to sustainability by eliminating paints, finishes, and other additives that could hinder recyclability. Every material choice was made to align with strict environmental standards while maintaining a premium visual impact.
The result was a holiday display that seamlessly blended creativity, operational efficiency, and eco-conscious design. By leveraging paper pulp snowdrifts and corrugate trees, the project set a new benchmark for large-scale, sustainable retail experiences, proving that festive in-store storytelling can be both impactful and environmentally responsible.
