Objectives
For sustainability reasons ASDA has changed its meat and fish packaging to vac packed slim trays aiming to reduce packaging waste. However, their existing display solutions such as SRP boxes or vacuum formed trays did not deliver satisfying display as product visibility was low and it was difficult for shoppers to find their products. The old solutions also required massive manpower in merchandising the shelves and keeping products look neat and tidy.
Thus, the objective was to install a merchandising solution that ensures full product visibility and, thus, a better shopping experience, while saving time from store staff.
Also, flexibility and durability was key: the solution needed to be flexible enough to allow for planogram changes and a variety of packaging formats and sizes. It also needed to be suitable for chillers and freezers, i.e. it should be durable enough for low temperature environments, and no matter if chillers with or without doors were used.
How were the objectives met?
1. Ensure high visibility and a better shopping experience: Multivo™ Max pusher trays automatically push products to the shelf edge, so they are perfectly visible and well merchandised at all times, even when stock levels are low. It also allows for communication/messaging at the front of the tray, while it makes it easy for shoppers to find what they are looking for and improves their shopping experience.
At the same time, since products are fronted automatically, store personnel saves time when merchandising shelves - key in times of staff shortages.
2. Flexibility and durability: Multivo™ Max is easy to fix or move around on shelves with only a fixing rail in the front. The adjustable dividers can be fit to virtually any product packaging or sizes , e.g. if planograms change. Furthermore, since Multivo™ Max is made from metal, it is suitable even for chillers and freezers and has a long in-store life, withstanding the wear and tear of the retail environment.
After ASDA rolled out Multivo™ Max pusher trays to all outlets, shoppers were delighted by the premium display in the Meat and Fish section in their local shops. The new display is driving more awareness for the section and delivered sales uplift.
